SIMPLE, FAST, EASY TO OPERATE, AND A FRACTION OF THE COST

The first REV Drills were born in the late 90s in a small machine shop outside of Lansing, MI. They were originally built for a project in Bethesda, MD as a direct result of the inability to get a commitment from very busy drilling contractors. The SOE project required 80 pre-drilled holes for H piles @ 30” & 36” diameter @ 30 ft deep. The project would also require multiple tiers of tie backs up to 50’ deep. We were able to utilize both excavators, not only as drills, but to dig bays out, unload trucks and position lagging, just to name a few. Basically, utilize excavators for what they were originally born to do.

After the project was completed, we knew we had something special sitting in the yard. It was simple, fast, easy to operate and a fraction of what we were spending sub-contracting out our drilling. And we realized how much value there was by bringing the drilling “in house”. Having that control was priceless on so many levels.

After a few years of great success out in the field, we decided to see if there was a market. As contractors, not salespeople, we were hesitant, but thought it would be fun to take it to Con – Expo and see what happens!? We got an order with a construction company in Half Moon Bay, CA. We delivered serial #001 a few months later and had our first very happy client.

After our first delivery, we started receiving many opportunities from contractors that wanted to “try before they would buy”. We realized that there was a rental market as well! Within a few years we had over 20 rental units and had sold over 3 rigs. The rentals allowed us to do onsite R&D as well as experiment with many new applications our clients requested. We realized that a REV Drill was becoming a tool carrier on a tool carrier (the excavator). With the help of our clients, we have been able to prove success and experience with all the applications we pride ourselves on delivering today.
